Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council to Honor Self-Advocates in Marlborough

The Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council (MDDC) will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Self-Advocacy Leadership Series (SALS) at its annual meeting on Friday by recognizing SALS graduates and their accomplishments overcoming obstacles.  The meeting themed “My Vision, My Future: Advocacy – Responsibility – Leadership” will feature panel sessions hosted by Dan Shannon, MDDC Executive Director and a keynote by Jeff Keilson, Senior Vice President of Strategic Development, Advocates, Inc.

MDDC founded SALS to teach people with disabilities how to build self-confidence and develop skills that allow them to play an active role in their communities. At the event, SALS graduates and MDDC council members will address the challenges they face in their communities and discuss what society can do to better support individuals with disabilities.
