Founded in Boston in 2004, The GreenLight Fund seeks to improve the lives of children and families in high-poverty urban areas. After identifying the area’s specific needs, the fund implements programs to bring about significant, positive change. Since its inception, the GreenLight Fund has contributed to the development and growth of 12 non-profit programs in Boston, Philadelphia, and the San Francisco Bay area.

Members of the NickersonPR team were stationed at the 6th hole where they hosted a “Happy Gilmore” competition for the golfers. Using a hockey stick, the golfer with the longest drive won four pre-season tickets to a Bruins game with dinner in the Board Room included. After participating in the friendly competition out on the course, golfers returned to the clubhouse for a silent auction to benefit College Advising Corps.

“We were honored to support such a great cause like the Green Light Fund,” says Lisa Nickerson, Principal of NickersonPR. “Being able to take part in such a fun occasion that benefits children in need made the event something the entire team will remember.”

College Advising Corps is a non-profit organization that places well-trained, recent college graduates as full-time college advisors and counselors in high-poverty urban schools. These recent grads work directly with students and administrations to increase the number of low-income, first-generation college, and underrepresented high school students who enter and complete higher education.
