Special bear hugs were given out at the Berlin Public Library today when The UFund Start U Reading series brought Winnie the Pooh for a special story time! Children were treated to a special hour of fun as they read  books about what
they could be when they grew up. Children were encouraged to open
their imaginations and act out becoming race car drivers and underwater explorers. One child even became a rock star and sang "Let it Go". Program director Sherri
Galego demonstrated how it's important to encourage curiosity and engage
learning at this young age. After the book was read,
children enjoyed a special visit with the lovable Pooh!

The U.Fund Start U. Reading Series is one of MEFA’s
statewide early college planning initiatives designed to introduce young
students’ to the joy of reading and literacy through interdisciplinary
activities.  Participants had an opportunity to meet Clifford, have their
photo taken, and receive a goody bag filled with materials and a brand new
book.
