“Technology plays an increasingly dominant role in optimizing the use of energy. BRIDGE is in the unique position to accelerate business value for utilities who are implementing IT solutions to deliver Smart Grid initiatives. We are honored to be recognized by CIO magazine for the innovative use of technology in enabling a smarter electrical grid,” said Mandakini Pahooja, VP of Research & Development of BRIDGE Energy Group.

“BRIDGE is pleased to be recognized as a visionary in Smart Grid enabling technologies,” said Tony Giroti, CEO of BRIDGE Energy Group. “The development of the industry’s first open reference architecture of its kind, promotes an open and standards ‐based integration and interoperability blueprint that is set to transform the power industry from what we see today.”

BRIDGE Energy Group developed openSGRA in response to an overwhelming industry need for a strategic IT architecture that specifically addresses the integration and interoperability challenges that currently exist in the energy industry. It is both vendor neutral and technology agnostic.

BRIDGE’s Reference Architecture is currently being implemented as the foundation for implementing Smart Grid solutions at various utilities. OpenSGRA is based upon the foundation and direction prescribed by United States Department of Energy’ Vision, GridWise® Architecture Council’ Context‐Setting Framework for Interoperability and National Institute of Standards and Technology’ Report on Roadmap. Standard‐setting committees are currently considering openSGRA as a foundation for further work.

The 2011 CIO 100 Awards will be presented at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado on August 14‐16 at the conclusion of the sixteenth annual CIO 100 Symposium and Awards Ceremony.
