Marlborough's 2011 Festival of Trees and Christmas at the Farm Taking Root

This festive event will feature evergreens, holly, roaring fireplaces, hot gingerbread and drinks, baked goods, music and more!

The fourth Festival of Trees will take place Nov. 25 through 27 and Dec. 2 through 4 at ’s new Hellenic Hall in downtown Marlborough.

The event will feature over 60 decorated trees, Santa’s Workshop, Candy Land, holiday decorations, miniature Victorian village and train display, entertainment, visit with Santa Claus, crafters and animated displays from Edaville USA Christmas Festival of Lights.

Companies or organizations wishing to sponsor a tree should contact 508-579-0658 or visit www.historicmarlborough.org. Awards will be presented for outstanding trees in different categories. All of the decorated trees will be raffled off to raise funds for historic preservation and protecting the assets of our community. The trees will be displayed for two weekends (6 days) and viewed by thousands of people. In 2010 the event had 67 trees and 3,514 people visited from 62 different communities and four states.

Christmas at the Farm will take place at the Captain Peter Rice Homestead, 377 Elm Street on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This 1688 Colonial is the home of the .

These much awaited annual events are produced by the Marlborough Historical Society in conjunction with Olde Marlborough, Inc. in support of historic preservation, education, and celebration.
