AMSA STUDENT WINS STATE GYMNASTICS TOURNAMENT

Anusha Purushothaman, a sixth grader at AMSA, recently won the Massachusetts State gymnastics tournament on March 7th. Anusha competed against a very competitive group of 23 other girls her age. She won 1st in bars with a tie, 1st in beam, 2nd in floor, and 6th on vault, which put her above all the other contestants to become all-around champion. To get to states, she had to qualify through five competitions throughout the season.  Anusha practices four hours a day, four days a week at New England Academy of Gymnastics in Marlborough, and has been doing gymnastics since she was three. She is inspired by gymnasts like Gabby Douglas and would love to go to the Olympics someday herself.

AMSA is not waiting for the world to change. We are changing the world one student at a time…every day. www.amsacs.org
