Help start your day on the right foot with the news you need.

1. The Marlborough School Committee needs you! (Yes we were going for the 1940's Uncle Sam Post in our mind). The the July resignation of Margaret Dwyer, the city needs volunteers to fill her role through the end of the positions term in December of 2015. Those interested in the position may submit a cover letter and resume to the mayor's office through mberry@marlborough-ma.gov.

2. A road race is coming up to benefit the police department's newest component, the K9 Unit. The benefit will help raise money for what police describe as a "force multiplier" and will be held on September 7.

3. The Police Department is off to a strong start with funds for the program. They have already secured a $25,000 grant to go towards having a police dog in the community.

4. The housing market in the city continues to rebound. Get all the details and see how other communities are doing in our latest story.
