River's Edge Arts Alliance Needs Volunteers

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. Here's a good way to catch local performances: River's Edge Arts Alliance needs some volunteers this weekend to help with the front of the house, that is, helping people find their seats and other similar tasks. In exchange, you get to watch he shows for free. The River's Edge Players will perform the Gift of the Magi & Amahl and the Night Visitors on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Click here for more information. Amahl and the Night Visitors is an opera, written in English. The Gift of the Magi is a one-act play based on the story by O. Henry.

2. The Ghost Light Players of Marlborough has postponed a beer and wine tasting fundraiser that had been scheduled to take place Sunday at Juilo's Liquors in Westborough. The players cited the hectic schedules of holidays this month. The event instead will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 instead. Tickets are now on sale.

3. Save the Date: The Festival of Trees will be Dec. 13-15 at the Royal Plaza Trade Center in Marlborough.

4. Reminder: Marlborough is now operating under a winter overnight parking ban. Please remove your cars from city streets or face a ticket.

5. In Case You Missed It: Trying to find Santa? Here is a useful map of where he will be.
