National Grid Responds to Marlborough Power Outage

An early morning power outage took time to restore as a specialty crew was called in.

Power was restored to 14 national grid users Thursday morning after an underground fuse blew.

“Whether it’s 14 or 1,400 we respond," David Graves a Spokesperson for National Grid told Marlborough Patch in response to a power outage that left 14 customers without power at 4 a.m. Thursday morning.

The cause of the power outage was found to be a blown fuse underground, requiring a special crew to be sent out to replace the fuse and underground cable. This delayed power being restored, said Graves.

“We had to bring in an underground crew," he said. “They specialize in working on the conduits underground."

The power was restored by 7:45 a.m.
