Marlborough Hudson Relay for Life Prepares for Kick-Off

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Marlborough Hudson
will be hosting the 2014 Relay Kick-Off at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at Fish Restaurant, 29 South Bolton St. All returning or new participants are welcome. The Relay for Life provides an opportunity for people touched by cancer to fight back as a community. For information, please email Abby Zimage at abby.zimage@cancer.org, or call 508- 270-4600.

2. The Assabet Valley Practical Nursing program will have an open meeting with the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing on Feb. 5, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the high school, 215 Fitchburg St. Please RSVP by Jan. 25 to 508-485-9430, ext. 1471, or email Deb Brown at dbrown@assabet.org. The community is invited to participate and share comments about the program.

3. A new daycare and early education center has opened in Berlin, near the Solomon Pond Mall. The newly constructed Growing Room Child Development Center is designed for up to 185 children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years. From the announcement: “I am most excited to bring a Growing Room Child Development Center to serve families in Berlin and the surrounding communities in Central Massachusetts,” said Doiron, owner of the Berlin center. “It has been a longtime dream of mine to be able to offer a top quality childcare program in this area.”

4. Earth Song Yoga in Marlborough will offer a free Introduction to Yoga Therapy class on Friday. See the announcement for more details.
