Marlborough Adds $75,000 to Veterans Services, Citing Demand

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. The Marlborough City Council approved a $75,000 transfer to the Veterans Services Benefits budget, due to a rise in demand for the services from eligible veterans and their families. The state will reimburse 75 percent.

2. The city has received a request from Sudbury to tie into the sewer system. The request has been forwarded to a council committee.

3. Marlborough's Building Department has seen a rise in permit applications and processing this year, according to the city. The unanticipated uptick in business has required the transfer of $17,500 to help cover costs.

4. Don't forget: the incoming snowstorm this afternoon could drop several inches on Marlborough. Take it easy on the roads and leave extra distance between the car in front to allow for stopping.

5. In Case You Missed It: an anonymous donor has provided $20,000 to the Marlborough Senior Center.
