76 Marlborough High Students Earn Adams Scholarships

Here are five things to know to help inform your day.

1. Seventy-six seniors at Marlborough High School will qualify for John and Abigail Adams Scholarships, based on their MCAS scores. The state scholarship will cover tuition for four years at any University of Massachusetts campus or at any state or community college. (not fees or books) The names of the students are listed here.

2. The Marlborough Conservation Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday. The agenda is fairly lengthy, and includes a public hearing on a project that would develop a site on Ames Street into a multi-family development called The Preserve at Ames. This would include four multi-story buildings with a total of 224 units and a club house building. "The proposed site development includes a pool, outdoor recreation area, onsite parking, a bus stop on Ames Street and utilities and drainage."

3. The Christmas season is here. Santa arrives Thursday at Solomon Pond Mall, where he'll be available for sittings through Tuesday, Dec. 24, when he has some deliveries to make.

4. Interested in Extreme Coupon techniques? Kim Bergeron will host two 1-hour workshops on getting the best value from your coupons. Space is limited. The workshops are Nov. 22 at the JCpenney court at Solomon Pond Mall, at 5:30 pm and 7 p.m.  Call The Telegram & Gazette to RSVP at 508.798.9306.

5. In Case You Missed It: The Marlborough High School Boosters is trying to increase membership numbers, and selling raffle tickets to help support athletics programs.
