Join Brewmasters, cheesemakers, wineries, sample savory foods and artisan spirits at the 8^th Annual Wine & Cheese Fest Saturday, Sept. 22, from 2 to 6 p.m. at The Vin Bin in the former Central Fire Station, 91 Main St., in downtown Marlborough. Admission is free.

An event wine and cheese lovers look forward to each September, the Vin Bin turns downtown into a fall fest of wine, artisan cheese, craft beer and specialty foods to celebrate the store’s founding in 2004.

This year, as in past years, the Vin Bin will offer a huge assortment of Old World and New World wines, craft beers produced in Massachusetts, and New England cheesemakers. This year, as a special treat, the Vin Bin will also offer artisan spirits such as Moonshine and Apple Brandy.

Among the cheesemakers joining the Fest will be Pam and Ray Robinson of Robinson Farm, Hardwick. The Robinsons will serve several of their cheeses including “Barndance” which was a winner at the American Cheese Society’s annual convention in Raleigh, NC this summer.

For craft beer, Pretty Things creators Dann and Martha Pacquette will headline the Fest as they will hand out samples of their quirky beers, including the flagship Jack D’Or. In addition, the brewmasters of Greenfield’s Berkshire Brewing Co. will delve into their vast portfolio to showcase their Oktoberfest and all-season brews.

Fancy foods will be prepared by Chef Mike Lombardi from the Vin Bin’s newly created café.

Along with the wide array of international and domestic wines featured at the Fest, special attention will be paid to the recent Bordeaux vintages from 2009 and 2010, heralded as among the finest vintages in a generation.

Guests who attend will be able to take advantage of a special sale held during the day, with discounts ranging from 10% to 33% off wine.

Free parking is available alongside the Vin Bin, as well as in the public parking lot directly across the street.
