A Marlborough woman was arrested Friday after accelerating toward a police officer and snagging his foot in the process.
One Marlborough police officer narrowly escaped serious injury Friday morning after responding to a domestic disturbance on Maple Street.
Shortly after 7 a.m., police officers were called to 146 Maple Street and discovered an agitated woman inside a motor vehicle.
Kimberly A. Lacey, 46, of the same address, was arrested after she accelerated her vehicle in the direction of a police officer.
"Officers began talking to her and at some point she became irate and upset, then she quickly accelerated forward and recklessly," said Det. Scott DeCiero of the Marlborough Police Department. "The rear wheel of the vehicle then ran over an officer's foot."
According to police records, the officer was not seriously injured during the incident.
Lacey was stopped and subsequently arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
