Spring is Here: What Does That Mean to Marlborough?
Though it may not feel like the season, the first day of spring happened this week on March 20.
So, spring is officially here. Now we just need the weather to catch up!
Mother Nature would have been painfully ironic had she dropped a snowstorm on in the first few days of spring. Instead, she gave us a break by showing us sunshine on this sunny (albeit frigid) day.
We're pumped for spring, and already have started seeking "signs of spring" pictures in our latest photo contest on Patch.
We also asked our fans on the Marlborough Patch Facebook page what they associate with spring in Marlborough.
"Play sports such as soccer and also running around the fields on a nice sunny spring day! Can't wait"
"DQ open" (The Dairy Queen is now open for the season)
"Actually seeing the ground."
"Opening day - softball!"
"Cub scouts graduation, pack 31... This weekend."
"Love seeing the street sweeper sweep away the sand"
"The first thing that always comes to my mind is the cemetery baskets that were made up every year with flowers that the kids brought into school. I don't know if all Marlboro Schools participated in that annual ritual, but I know Bigelow School did."
"Little league baseball starting in early to mid April."
"Callihan State Park"
"Fishing, turkey hunting."
How about you? What do you associate with spring, or spring in Grafton, specifically? Tell us in the comments.
