SOUND OFF: Where's the Worst Cell Phone Reception?

The new iPhone 5 may be great, but it may not matter in sections where you simply don't get service.

All this talk about the iPhone 5 has us thinking: sometimes, regardless of how wonderful a new phone may be, it still can't get past dead spots.

We all know the areas we avoid when we want to have an uninterrupted cell phone call.

So, tell us: which cell phone network do you have, and where do you lose service? Please make sure to include the town or city, along with the street/area so we know where to avoid!

The ENTIRE town of Upton! It doesn't matter who your service provider is.

Agreed. Route 16 in Mendon by the drive-in drops off, too, at least for AT&T.

Chilimaker: Didn't Upton just very recently create new reception towers to improve cell phone use? I don't live there so I don't know if they actually work or not, it's possible they're not active yet though.

Tyler - I believe Upton received approval to build a tower, but from what I know it hasn't been constructed yet. I think the issue was no one "wanting it in their back yard", understood. Will let you know if I have service since the last time through there am heading that way now

The tower was constructed, and was supposed to go online towards the end of this past August. It should be functioning.

AT&T works in parts of Upton, but Verizon near BVT and Nipmuc is awful!

In Framingham, every since all those power outages last year, most of Nobscot for me.
Now that could be since I have AT&T for wireless, as I hear Verizon does get better service in Nobscot.

In Framingham: on Water, from Hemenway to near Ace Hardware. Potter between Water and the lights.
In Sudbury: as you drive past Lincoln Sudbury high school
In Wayland/Weston - spotty on parts of route 20

Route 16, in Natick and then again in Holliston--no reception on Verizon. I've called about that for years--no real response forthcoming. I will say that years ago, when I switched to T-Mobile, I had no reception at all in Milford, and had to cancel service within 24 hours... It's hard to believe that all of these locations are within thirty miles of one of the busiest and most populated hubs in the Western Hemisphere...

Agreed. Verizon's service in Medfield is terrible. You have to go outside of the house or building (especially Blake and the High School) to get just a weak signal.

Up toward the State Hospital Verizon works fine. I had AT&T several years ago and the service at that time around here was poor, but that has probably improved. Heading into Dover on Farm Street between the intersection with Bridge Street and the intersection with Glen Street pretty much has no service. If I'm on a call when I drive through there it will pretty much always be dropped.

Inside the mobile homes and right outside any of the mobile home parks in MARLBOROUGH. And it's about freaking TIME Mayor Vigeant did something about it!!!!! I will not vote for him again if this is not fixed. Lets get a CELL TOWER already!

I gave my daughter my iPhone 3G because I upgraded to the iPhone 4s. I live in Mass she lives in Hudson Falls NY... Unfortunately she gets real bad service and most of the time gets disconnected.
