The economy is one of the key factors in a new prediction that President Barack Obama will lose to former Massachusetts Governor and Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney.
"Based on our forecasting model, it becomes clear that the president is in electoral trouble," said Kenneth Bickers of CU-Boulder, in a press release, after conducting the analysis with Michael Berry of CU Denver.
They predict that President Obama will fall short of the 270 Electoral College votes he needs to win with only 218. Their analysis includes state-by-state economic factors.
This model appears to fly in the face of current data, including The Huffingtonpost Election Dashboard that has President Obama narrowly leading Romney.
Conflicting analysis of the situation beg the question: is it too early to be predicting the presidential race, or is this an important part of the process?
