Officer Assaulted at Marlborough Bar

A police officer was reportedly attacked by a drunken patron at a Marlborough bar.

A night out in the city for a Vermont man allegedly ended in him assaulting and injuring a police officer after he got drunk and aggressive.

Police responded to the Prospector East Saloon on Lincoln Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Friday night. They had responded to a report of a drunken man trying to fight people at the bar, reported Marlborough Police Officer James OMalley.

"(His) conduct was disorderly due to him trying to fight other patrons at the bar and using threatening force in a violent and tumultuous manner," wrote OMalley of a man later identified as James Francis Sadlier Jr., 22, of 22 Forbes Rd. Apt. 38 in Milton Vermont.
