UPDATED: Numerous Marathon Runners Treated for Heat

Many Marathon runners have reportedly been affected by the heat today.

UPDATED: Lynn Walz, aid station supervisor, said "We've had an abnormal number of patients. ... Most have heat exhaustion, but some have other injuries," such as sprained ankles and bad knees.

EARLIER: Patch has received an alert of a "mass casualty incident," as an ambulance task force was requested for numerous runners in the Boston Marathon who have suffered heat related injuries.

It is presently 82 degrees in the area of the Marathon.
