UPDATE, March 12, 2:30 p.m.: Speaking from New Life Health and Wellness on Monday, owner Sandra Condon said she was very pleased by the results of the poll.
"I am thankful to our customers for getting out the vote and giving us this win," said Condon.
There was a passionate debate on Marlborough Patch over the past week concerning who runs the best gym in the city.
Winning with just seven more votes than the Wayside facility, New Life separated themselves from the pack with vocal and passionate commentary.
"I have been a member of New Life for about a month and it is by far the best gym I have ever belonged to," said one voter. "They have great equipment and offer an array of classes included in the membership price, plus hotel amenities are available to us when the gym is not open. The staff is super friendly and motivating and they are more member focused than anywhere else... I hated the gym, but am turning into an avid exerciser thanks to Sandy and the staff at New Life. I have made so much progress in a short time thanks to their knowledge, skill, and energy. I will never join anywhere else if I can avoid it!"
New Life's owner (and a personal trainer) Sandra Condon was not available for comment as of this post, but Marlborough Patch will her reaction to the news once we speak with her.
Other Marlborough gyms had passionate promoters throughout the week as well, with many commenters talking about the exemplary service received at Crossfit.
"I love CrossFit of Marlborough. I've been there since the doors opened, and I've seen amazing results," said a user.
Check back with Marlborough Patch on Monday for week three of "Readers Choice: Best of." You will have the opportunity to vote on the best place in Marlborough to celebrate the upcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday.
