Marlborough Woman Answers to Assault Charges in Road Rage Incident
The 47-year-old city resident is accused of scratching and pulling the hair of a driver in a Northborough parking lot. A Hudson man was also charged.
A Marlborough woman and a Hudson man were in Westborough District Court this week to answer to charges they attacked a driver in Northborough after a dispute in a parking lot.
Yvette Diaz, 47, of 113 Elm St., Apt. 1, Marlborough, and Thomas Rivera, 33, 8 Felton St., Apt. 1, Hudson, were summonsed to court on an April 11 complaint by Northborough police and charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct.
The charges are related to a December incident that reportedly occurred near a stop sign in a Northborough Crossing parking lot.
According to a report from Northborough Police, Diaz and Rivera got into a disagreement with a driver at a stop sign near BJ’s in Northborough Crossing. The driver honked his horn at the pair. Diaz and Rivera then followed the driver to a parking spot and allegedly got into a physical altercation.
Diaz is accused of pulling the hair of a passenger in the car and scratching her face. Rivera is accused of punching the driver and the passenger of the car in the face several times.
District Court Judge Vito Virzi ordered both to have no contact with their alleged victims, and they are scheduled for a pretrial hearing on Aug. 9.
