Marlborough Police Shooting: Complete Coverage
We have compiled all of our information on the police shooting in one location.
It has been ruled that the shooting, by a Marlborough Police officer, that resulted in the death of Bryce Coutinho was justified.
Below is a list of the news related to this shooting as it was reported.
The officer involved in the shooting returned to active duty in February.
In early February, officials were still investigating the shooting.
It was announced that, following standard procedure, the officer involved in the shooting has been placed on paid administrative leave.
A representative from the state agency that oversees training of police officers has said that the use of deadly force is always a judgment call.
The Middlesex District Attorney's Office and the Marlborough Police department are both conducting investigations into the shooting. The results could take time.
According to court documents, Coutinho had assault and battery charges pending against him from an incident last month in which he had also allegedly jumped in front of a car in a suicide attempt.
Our coverage began with the announcement of the Monday night shooting of Coutinho, who allegedly had a knife, by a Marlborough Police Officer.

I'm sorry problems or not if someone was coming at me with a knife and I had the right to shoot him to protect myself I would have done the same thing!!! This officer is doing as he was trained to do.

Bryce had got caught into issues, but who doesn't in life. Officers need to be trained in a different manner, or more Marlborough Police Officers need to be responding to calls. This could of been prevented, even if Bryce was coming with a knife. His family is crushed, and all his friends. It's literally killing his mom. Maybe the officer should of thought about that instead of pulling his trigger. No one deserves to die.
