John P. Sawicki, 49, of 276 Main St., Apt. 43, is being held without bail after being arrested during a motor vehicle stop Tuesday, Feb. 7. Marlborough and state police officers began searching for Sawicki after another motorist reported him to be driving erratically on 290 eastbound. He was located on Pleasant Street in Marlborough and charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, possession of an open containing of alcohol in a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended/revoked license and fifth (or greater) offense OUI liquor.
Police records said that the car had been stolen out of Worcester, and there were several open beer cans in the vehicle. This was at least Sawicki's seventh arrest for OUI liquor, and records indicated that he has six previous convictions, the last out of Leominster District Court in August of 2004.
Sawicki is scheduled to return to Marlborough District Court Friday, March 9.

They let him out, or is he being until then? Hope he's being held otherwise it would be a flagrant travesty of justice.

I think I led with the fact that he is being held. They will review the status of the case in early March.
