Rep. Tsongas faces Golnik for the newly created Fifth Congressional District. James McGovern previously represente the city before redistricting. Rep. Tsongas has been a representative since 2007, when she won a special election to replace Marty Meehan, who resigned to be Chancellor of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

She faces off against Jon Golnik, a Republican from Carlisle.

In 2010, Tsongas defeated Golnik by a margin of 54 to 42 percent.

State Senator James Eldridge (D), Dean Cavaretta (R): Mass. Middlesex and Worcester District.

Sen. Eldridge has been in the position since January of 2009.

State Rep. Steven Levy (R), Danielle Gregoire (D): Mass. 4th Middlesex District.
