Man Released on Bail After Punching Woman, Threatening Her with a Gun

Thomas F. Cummisky, 42, of 251 South St., was arrested early Thursday, Nov. 3 outside his home after he was accused of assaulting a woman in public several times in recent days. At his arraignment in Marlborough District Court on Thursday, it was revealed that Cummisky was arrested after he allegedly punched a female victim with a closed fist in the vicinity of Granger Blvd. He is also alledged to have threatened the same woman with a gun the previous morning, and slapped her several times inside the Prospector Saloon. He was charged with assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon (gun). He was released on $2,500 cash bail and will return to court for a pretrial hearing Friday, Nov. 18.
Michael Terrance Bowler, 48, of 82 Melody Ln. was arrested by the Marlborough Police Department late Thursday evening, Nov. 3 after a woman came into police headquarters reporting that Bowler had choked and threatened to kill her. Court records detailed the incident, saying during a verbal altercation things turned physical when Bowler allegedly choked the victim and said "I am going to kill you." When the victim tried to call police, Bowler allegedly took the phone and smashed it rendering it unusable. Police responded to his residence and found him asleep before taking him into custody, said court records. He is charged with assault and battery, impeding an investigation through witness intimidation, assault to murder and threatening to commit a crime. He was released on $1,000 bail and will return to court for a pretrial hearing Wednesday, Dec. 21.
