Police were called upon for a number of unique cases this past week.

What was thought to be a call to Solomon Pond Mall for a shoplifter turned into much more when crack cocaine and heroin were found on the shoplifters, according to police reports.

Police continue to investigate a series of daytime robberies that have put many in the city on edge. Additional robberies in the city are being investigated as possibly connected to the string of robberies that extends beyond Marlborough's borders and into neighboring Northborough.

As department officials try to build up the ranks, two police officers were reported injured this past week. These injuries have an impact on the work load and overtime costs of the department.
