Four men have been charged in what police describe as a "vicious attack" that resulted in the victim being lifeflighted with severe internal injuries.

"The vicious attack was directed to the torso area, causing serious injuries to (the victim)," said Marlborough Police Officer Keith Moro in his report.

Police responded to a report of a man with a head injury at 10:35 p.m. on Friday, October 5 at Homestead Village on 19 Northboro Road East. When they arrived, they found one male victim who had to be lifeflighted to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, according to court records.

"During the vicious attack, (the victim) suffered a ruptured kidney, left ventrical bleeding and severe bleeding to his internal organs," reported Moro. "(The Victim's) right eye was swollen shut, several front teeth were missing and there were shoe impressions on his left cheek."

Police have charged Efrain Ramos Rodriguez, 49, Mario Olvera, 54, Jose Benjamin Gonzalez, 28, who are all listed as residents at 19 Northboro Road East with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Darryl Strickland, 52, of 3 Pine Club Drive in Kennesaw Georgia was initially charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, although those charges were increased to aggrivated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon following the evaluation of the victim's condition. A witness described Strickland kicking the victim in the head with his boot.

All four men charged were held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
