Crash at Hildreth and Church Streets Monday

A crash which triggered airbags occurred at the intersection of Hildreth and Church Streets Monday afternoon.

A crash which was forceful enough to trigger airbags in both vehicles occurred at the intersection of Hildreth and Church Street shortly before 4 p.m. today.

"Both drivers refused transportation," said Deputy Fire Chief Ron Ayotte.

One vehicle went into a telephone pole while the other sustained front end damage, he said. Both will have to be towed from the scene.

The airbags deployed in both vehicles, but the drivers were both wearing their seatbelts and refused to be transported to the hospital, said Deputy Chief Ayotte.

The fire department put down speedy dry and cleared the scene, he said.

"It absorbs the oil and absorbs the coolant," said Deputy Chief Ayotte.

Police will remain at the scene directing traffic through the intersection until the vehicles are cleared, he said.
