2. The Disabled American Veterans Fishing Festival is upcoming in Marlborough. This special festival is open to disabled veterans only at the Marlborough Fish and Game Club, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 19. 3. Over the weekend, the response was wonderful concerning the donations made to those affected by the Lake Williams fire, reported those at Temple Emanuel. The Temple has collected many bags of clothes, some toys, housewares, bedding. They are still in need of more children's clothes, men's clothes, items for children to play with, etc. The Red Cross has placed about 100 people, including 25 children. These numbers refer to only those that have gone through the Red Cross, reported staff at the Temple. Contact them if you have donations that you can make.
4. The next date for the entrance test to the Assabet Valley Practical Nursing program is 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 8. Registration must take place at least 48 hours prior to the date, and can be done online. Go online, then go to Quick links-Entrance Exam to register and sign up. There is a Study Guide available at the same site. Bring confirmation of test registration the evening of the exam.
