5 Things to Know Today: Jan. 11
A list of things to know and do today in Marlborough.
- As it happens, today is “Cigarettes are Hazardous to Your Health Day.” Many people probably began the new-year with the resolution to quit smoking; use this day as a reminder to stay strong in your effort.
- For seniors 60-plus, there is another busy day ahead at the Senior Center on Main Street, with line dancing at 11 a.m. and movie at 1 p.m.
- There are a bunch of games at the high school on this day. They include basketball and ice hockey. See the schedule complete with locations here.
- Tonight is the organizational meeting for the Marlborough School Committee. It begins at 7:30 p.m., is open to the public, and regularly attended by the Mayor and Superintendent of Schools.
- Marlborough and the surrounding area is supposed to get a significant amount of snow beginning this evening, and it will continue through Wednesday. Prepare accordingly by heading down to the grocery store, getting bags of salt, shovels, etc. Play it safe and plan to stay off the roads later tonight.
