5 Things: Hildreth School Uses and Applefest
From school housing to Applefest this weekend; we have what you need to know right here.
1. As the School Committee discusses different possible venues for expansion, the Hildreth School was brought up. This location was not seen as viable by some members as it can hold only 204 students. The school also currently houses the Phoenix alternative high school, a post-graduate program for special education and another special education program called ACT.
2. A number of developments are currently being discussed in the city. There is a proposed 40B as well as a proposed zoning change that would allow mixed use on over 100 acres of industrial land.
3. The district is saying they have responded to 80 percent of bus route complaints by parents. They are still advising parents to contact High School Assistant Principal Dan Riley at driley@mps-edu.org.
4. Are you or do you know a budding teenage writer? Well the Marlborough Public Library has a group for young writers that will even provide assistance with getting stories published.
5. Applefest is coming this weekend to nearby Northborough! There are events scheduled Sept. 14, 15 and 16, including a talent competition, the street fair, road race and a lot more. Make sure you know the schedule so you don't miss anything.
