nita (Bonin) Kasaras, 88, of Marlborough, died Sunday, February 20, 2011, surrounded by her family. Born in Marlborough, she was the daughter of the late Zephirin(Harry) Bonin and Mary Jane (Sawyer) Bonin and the wife of Thomas Kasaras, for the past 69 years. She was a loving, caring, and devoted wife and mother. One of the joys in her life was taking care of her family and friends. Mrs. Kasaras attended Marlborough schools and graduated from Marlborough High School in 1941, where she was captain of the basketball team.
For many years, she worked as a nurse’s aide at Marlborough Hospital and a cafeteria worker at the Jaworek School in Marlborough. She had also worked for the Raytheon Corp. Sudbury. She retired as a housekeeper in the infirmary of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, Thomas and Stephen of Marlborough, Robert and his wife Susanne of Northborough, her daughter, Jane and her husband Ken Pepiot of Bullhead City, AZ, her grandsons, Jeffrey Kasaras of Hudson, Marc Kasaras of Worcester, and Rikki Kasaras of Marlborough, and three great grandchildren, Matthew, Abigail and Madison Kasaras. She was also the sister of the late Harry, Francis, Arthur, and Alfred Bonin and Helen Bonin Warren.
Visiting hrs.will be held on Thu.,Feb. 24 from 9:00 -10:30 am, in the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am in St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough.
