A Tribute to an Innovative Local Manufacturer
Congratulations to Automatic Specialties, Inc. of Marlborough on its 43rd year in business. The company was established in early 1968 by Hubert J. Moineau and his sons Joe and Bill. The Moineau family has been in wire goods and products for more than 50 years. Many of its employees have been with the family business spanning all or part of those decades.
Automatic Specialties produces small diameter wire forms and springs quickly with little or no tooling cost. The new multi-axis CNC forming machine is the latest in wire forming and coiling technology which creates highly precise small wire parts, including springs, with a wire range of .030" - .098” diameter. Another machine accommodates .100” diameter to .312 ‘diameter wire. This technology enables the company to quickly prototype a new part while maintaining the ability to make changes as needed.
It remains the mission of Automatic Specialties to make the utmost use of wire forming, stamping and welding knowledge. The company proudly unveiled the patented Guardian Angel Window Guard several years ago. Featured on ABC’s Good Morning America, Guardian Angel Window Guards are protecting children across the globe in homes, daycare centers, pediatricians’ offices, public buildings – any windowed areas where children could conceivably fall. The Guardian Angel Window Guard is fabricated in Marlborough and powder coated using local vendors.
